Your Arvada Google Business Profile is working when it is verified, accurate, complete and active, and when Google's Performance report shows customers calling, asking for directions or clicking to your website. The checklist below has 20 checks in five groups, and every check names its source. RankiN AIs in Arvada, Colorado, built it so you can audit your own profile.

Key takeaways

  • Google says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show in local search results.
  • Google Business Profile made up 28.63% of local AI citations in BrightLocal's study of 200,000 prompts, the top source for Google AI Mode and AI Overviews.
  • ChatGPT rarely links to Google business pages. 8ight found them in 0.2% of its local answers.
  • Yext found businesses that all four AI engines ranked first had a median of 568 reviews against 19 for the typical field.
  • The Performance report counts clicks on your call button, not completed calls.
  • Google says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking, so this checklist promises no placement.

What does it mean for a Google Business Profile to work?

A profile works when a customer can find it, trust it and act on it. Google's Performance report measures the acting part. It counts views, calls, directions and website clicks for verified profiles.

Each part has a different owner. You control the facts and fields. Customers control the reviews. Google controls the ranking. Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and popularity, and its help page headlines the third factor as prominence.

What are the 20 checks? The 5-F profile check

The 5-F profile check groups 20 checks under Facts, Fields, Feedback, Fresh and Figures. Work down the table and mark each check pass or fix.

# Group Check A pass looks like Source

4 Facts Hours Regular customer-facing hours, plus special hours for holidays Google guidelines and Google's 2026 playbook

Why do Facts come first?

Facts come first because every other tool reads them. Google says it compiles profile information from your website, licensed third-party data and user contributions. If your profile and website disagree, Google has two answers to pick from.

Google's guidelines also set strict limits. A business name must reflect the real-world name used on your storefront, website and stationery. Google lists the extras that are not allowed: marketing taglines, store codes, phone numbers, website addresses, hours information and service descriptions. Our guide to matching your name, address and phone everywhere covers the rest.

RankiN AIs uses one format for its name, address and phone on its website: RankiN AIs, 6316 W 86th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003, 970-368-2810. Its hours read open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

How do reviews and activity compare with top AI picks?

Businesses that AI engines picked first look different from the typical business. Yext matched the profiles of cases where all four engines ranked the same business first against a typical field of 6.6 million profiles.

Six small bar charts of Yext Research data comparing top AI picks with typical profiles: median reviews 568 against 19, new reviews per month 12.2 against 1.9, photos 187 against 88, reviews answered 62% against 33%, profile completeness 95% against 80%, posts in the past year 13.1 against 6.0.
Signal Top picks Typical
Median reviews 568 19
New reviews per month 12.2 1.9
Photos 187 88
Reviews answered 62% 33%
Profile completeness 95% 80%
Posts in the past year 13.1 6.0
Average star rating 4.2 3.7

Read the table with care. Yext says its study does not claim any one field causes selection. The review gap is large, and your first goal is not to match 568 reviews. It is to build a steady habit of asking, replying and posting.

Whitespark's expert survey agrees on direction. Experts ranked "recency of reviews" #11 and "sustained influx of reviews over time" #14 out of 187 factors for Google Maps. That is a survey of opinion, not a measurement.

What do Google's own numbers say about complete profiles?

Google makes bold claims about complete profiles. Its 2026 Google Business Profile best practices playbook says businesses with complete profiles receive 7 times more clicks, and businesses that add photos receive 42% more direction requests. It cites Google internal data and does not publish the method. Treat those figures as Google's claim, not a promise for your profile.

The same playbook gives limits worth knowing. You can add up to 10 categories, one primary and nine secondary. You can set up to 20 service areas. It suggests posting at least once a week.

How do you read the Performance report?

Open your profile while signed in to the Google account that manages it, then choose Performance. Google says performance data is only available for verified profiles.

Know what each number counts:

  • Views are unique visitors to your profile on Search and Maps. A person counts once a day.
  • Calls are clicks on the call button, not completed calls.
  • Directions are requests for directions, adjusted for repeated taps, cancellations and spam.
  • Website clicks are clicks on your profile's website link.
  • Searches are the terms people used to find your business. Google updates them at the start of each month and says they can take up to 5 days to appear.

Compare month to month. Write the four action numbers in a sheet the day you start, and again 30 days after you make changes. Change one group at a time so you can tell what moved the numbers.

What does it mean for AI search?

It depends on the tool. BrightLocal found Google Business Profile was the most important source of information for Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. 8ight found ChatGPT linked to a Google Maps or business page in 0.2% of answers and cited the Better Business Bureau in 38.7%.

So your profile matters most where Google's AI is answering. For ChatGPT, your website and listings carry more weight. Google Maps also changed Q&A. BrightLocal reports Google replaced the Q&A section with Ask Maps, and says Ask Maps answers draw on the business's profile information, reviews and website.

What does a working profile look like for an Arvada business?

Arvada has two local cases that change the checklist:

  • A storefront on a main road. Show your address and keep your hours exact. BrightLocal found storefront businesses were mentioned in 33.6% of AI searches and service-area businesses in 29.4%.
  • A service-area business run from home. Hide your address, set a service area and keep it within about 2 hours of driving. Whitespark's experts list showing your address as a service-area business among suspension risks.

Names matter too. Arvada sits in Jefferson and Adams counties, and Hometown Locator lists Westminster as an accepted city name for ZIP code 80003. Check which city your profile prints and keep it the same as your website.

What should you not do?

Do not take shortcuts. They can get your profile suspended.

  • Do not add keywords to your business name. Google's guidelines say the name must reflect your real-world name.
  • Do not stuff keywords into the description or posts. Whitespark's experts list both as suspension risks.
  • Do not offer anything in exchange for a review. Google bans incentives, and it bans soliciting only positive reviews.
  • Do not create a second profile for the same location.
  • Do not list an address you do not operate from. Google says virtual offices are not eligible.

FAQ

How do I know if my Google Business Profile is verified?

A verified profile shows the Profile Strength and Performance tools. Google says Profile Strength and Performance data are only available for verified profiles. If you cannot find either, start with Google's verification steps.

How often should I post on my Google Business Profile?

Google's 2026 playbook suggests at least once a week. Yext found recent posts were associated with 1.8 times the lift in being named by AI. No source promises a result from any posting rhythm.

Do bad reviews hurt my Google Business Profile?

Google says a mix of positive and negative feedback often feels more trustworthy to customers. It also says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking. It tells owners to reply with a short, honest answer and never to share a reviewer's private information. If a review breaks Google's policies, you can flag it.

Does my Google Business Profile matter for ChatGPT?

It matters less than for Google's AI. BrightLocal found Google Business Profile was hardly used by ChatGPT. 8ight found ChatGPT linked to Google business pages in 0.2% of answers. Your website and other listings need the same facts.

Should I put keywords in my business name?

No. Google's guidelines say the name should be your real-world name as used on your storefront, website and stationery. Whitespark's survey lists keyword stuffing of the business name among the suspension-risk factors.

What happened to Q&A on Google Business Profiles?

BrightLocal reports Google replaced it with Ask Maps and discontinued Q&A, and Google's developer documentation says the Q&A API was discontinued on November 3, 2025.
